One might include some tag'n'slag cards, too. Bloodcat and Corp Headhunters are nice. It's not perfect, but it's FUN to play with (isn't that the thing games are about?) and it's so nice to imagine your opponents eyes go wide open when he sees your one big fort grow and grow and... After yesterdays matches, during which I swam in money (up to 60 bits sometimes) I consider replacing one Haunting Inquisition by a Colonel Failure (as it was there before). With Ice Transmutation it can be a real mean motherfucker (Str. 7, 10 subs). Same with Dog Pile and 8 or 9 pieces of ICE outside ;-) For the final run in the first match Helblazer had 84 bits (BSB/OD engine), but he needed 97! To his honor I must say that he made 10 out of 11 pieces of ICE, after the 10th, with 2 bits left, he got kicked out by Rio anyway. The second match was quite thight. With ICE destruction and AI Interface/R&D Protocols installed we were struggling to get the bits for my newly installed Siren. Helblazer scored an AI CFO and a Transmutation early (to my blank horror). One turn more and he probably would have fried us, but then the ICE and the BBS came and the match was over by that point as Helblazer (I think he's Edwin on this list) couldn't get out any breakers... It went as I stated before: The first few turns can kill you quickly, but when the Siren hits her fort, it'll soon be over (although it will take quite a few turns for the runner to realize his doom :). I found that the CNCs are even better bit gainers than the BBS. Without action we'll get 3 to 6 bits each turn quite quickly AND we make the runner very nervous when he sees all the agenda and can't run HQ. With this money it's easy to install the ICE and rez our RBs. CNC is easy to install and hard to trash. And if it gets trashed, we simply offsite them back. Actually this tactic won us quite a few turns in the second IRC match, while Helblazer gained the bits to trash the always-returning CNC... Hope you enjoyed the report :-) Btw. IRC NR is really cool. Only drawback: it's very time consuming. But it's fun to play with an opponent on the other side of the globe, trying some really weird decks (some strange ideas surfacing in my mind .oO). If you have free Internet access it's even cheaper than real play (no need to own a single card - I'm trying to play it with paper/pencil only). -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erwin Wagner wagnere@informatik.tu-muenchen.de wagnere@mathematik.tu-muenchen.de
